- Eric,
-
- I worked hand in hand with Telebit. I have used thier FastBlazer 8840
- for like 8 months.
-
- The FastBlazer is quite an aswesome modem, too bad it has some
- problems with Rockwell chipsets, and speical tweaking need to be made
- if you wish to get incoming calls from Rockwell and USR chipsets.
- Telebit have signed an agreement with zoom on a modem which is based
- on thier technology but it is a crippled version, of the fast blazer.
-
- If you need this modem for "outgoing" only , this is the right choise,
- it can handle almost any line quality, too bad it its very strict on
- V.34 protocols.
-
- Many early Rockwell RC288 based modems cannot have some bugs
- implementing v.34 which causes the FastBlazer to connect to.
-
- I think if you need it for private use, it does not worth it. a USR
- Courier V.Everything works much better when calling bbs/ISPs.
